Three levels of control

Level A is assistive, Level B is controlled decision support and Level C is high consequence. The level changes the depth of evidence, approval and operational protection.

Level A covers drafting, search and summarisation with no direct influence on a product decision. Level B covers findings, predictions or generated artefacts that influence quality actions, APQP evidence or supplier decisions; it needs specification, evaluation, traceability, named acceptance, change control and monitoring.

Level C can materially affect safety, product release, contractual conformity or major financial exposure. It adds independent approval, restricted autonomy, fail-safe behaviour, incident handling and periodic review.
