Write the one-page specification first
A controlled AI solution starts with its intended use, inputs, outputs, limits, human boundary, acceptance criteria and record—not with a prompt.
The one-page specification creates a reviewable agreement between quality, engineering and digital teams. It describes the task, who uses it, what evidence it sees, what it returns, where it may fail and who takes the final action.
The product instruction, model version, retrieval settings and rules influence every future result. Treat them as controlled configuration: versioned, reviewed, tested and changed with a traceable record.
PUT THIS INTO PRACTICE
- 01Write the intended-use statement before configuring a tool.
- 02Specify the human acceptance step and escalation condition.
- 03Freeze the evaluated configuration in the qualification record.
