Classify the evidence before choosing anything else
An AI-quality system is only as reliable as its evidence structure, source authority, metadata and access controls.
Quality evidence includes requirements, drawings, specifications, risk analyses, control plans, work instructions, inspection records, supplier submissions, audit findings and field lessons. Treat each source according to authority, revision, permitted use, retention and access.
Retrieval failure and generation failure are different. The system can retrieve the wrong document, the wrong revision or incomplete evidence before it generates any answer. A source citation is useful only when it identifies the exact document and location a reviewer can inspect.
